The Pilot Projects were planned and implemented to provide proof of concept that not only OSS can coexist within the current environment but more importantly brought about the freedom of software choice, flexibility in modifying software, ability to redistribute and realising considerable savings.
Twenty two (22) KPIs were measured for the OSCC. The analysis indicates that the Knowledge Bank, Policies, Standards & Guidelines, Promotion & Awareness, and Training & Certification Units of the OSCC had the highest KPI numbers.
The purpose of this document is to present the benefits realised from the implementation of the OSS Master Plan through analyses of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The KPI measurement shows a marked increase in OSS implementation in the Public Sector even though some of the activities conducted did not achieve the targets set for 2005.

This handbook shares the success stories, experiences and benefits of the implementation of OSS in four pilot government agencies. The four pilot projects are part of the Malaysian Public Sector Open Source Initiative led by MAMPU.
Four pilot agencies: MoF, JPA, MOE, KPWKM
